What kind of information and services will eMas Sabah provide? We plan on having a homepage that will be easy to use, and that offers information that is timely, relevant and current. For a start, highlights will include: This is where the public can ask for help and advice regarding, for example, matters to do with the law, their health, welfare, consumer rights and so on. Questions will be answered by the relevant bodies or organizations. The questions and answers will be posted in the homepage. FAQs and relevant community information will also be included in this category. To supplement eMas Consult, there will be a directory of all the NGOs throughout Sabah. The directory will include their addresses, telephone and fax numbers (and any e-mail addresses and links to any available websites) for the benefit of those who would like to contact the NGOs directly for one reason or another. NGOs or any non-profit organization may post their homepages up in eMas Sabah for free. Presently, there are 16 NGO homepages in eMas Sabah. These NGOs come under the umbrella of the Sabah Council of Social Services and their sites detail the type of work they do, their aims and objectives and the activities they carry out. Eventually, we hope to nurture an electronic community in every district in the state of Sabah. For the initial stage, eMas will start with Keningau District where, incidentally, eMas Sabah will be launched. The information for each district will include location & map, history, population, people, culture, places of interest, directory of local clubs & associations, happenings, announcements, activities, local personalities, and son on. This is really a gold mine consisting of all Sabah websites. The sub-categories will include general information, Calendar, Government, Education, Travel & Tours, Sports & Recreation, Culture & Arts, Community & Economic Development, Clubs & Associations, Library, Health, Weather and Miscellaneous Members of the public can also send in the URL or addresses of any Sabah web site that they would like to recommend for the list. Other categories will include: Calendar of annual events (festivals, holidays, etc), calendar of daily events (seminars/ meetings/ trainings etc), campaigns, Welfare Week, Library Week, Senior Citizen Week and so on. The public can post up informal announcements such as a 2nd hand car for sale, puppy wanted, looking for old friends etc. Introduction to Sabah, location & map, history, population, people, culture, handicraft, etc Whats New Announcements of new homepages, sites, information and links in eMas. Users will be able to search the entire homepage with the provision of the search engine from Sabah Net.
