The Land below the Wind is a vast area of mountainous terrain broken by rivers flowing between rich, alluvial valleys. Numerous caves are also found in Sabah. Mount Kinabalu one of the highest mountain in Southeast Asia, is 4,101 metres above sea level. The rich rainforest is home to many species of wildlife such as the Sumatran rhinoceros, orang utan, elephant, mouse deer, monkey, flying squirrel, deer and birds. |
