It’s been an unforgettable trip for 107 scout rovers from Sweden during their Sabah
Goodwill Tour to Sabah on the 16 to 28 of July 2004. The contingent then were divided into three
separate groups and sent to various exciting location throughout Sabah such as the Mt Kinabalu,
Pulau Tiga and Sukau. The rovers also were given a chance to stay a few days with their foster
parents to learn more about the local culture here in Sabah.
Finally, the Sabah Scout Association held a gathering at the BP House on the 29th to wish
farewell and good luck before the contingent continued their journey to the 12th World Scout Moot 2004
in Taiwan. The ceremony started with a traditional dance by the Sembulan District Scouts and a
renewal of Scout Promise by Mr. Philip Chin, Sabah Scout Trainer ( in Bahasa Melayu) and Mr.
Anders Melldén, Swedish Deputy Contingent Leader ( in Svenska ).
A welcoming speech then presented by Mr. Jegan T. Marimuthu, International Commissioner for
Sabah & Sarawak acting as Organizing Chairman for the Malaysia-Sweden Sabah Goodwill Tour
2004 and a return speech by Mr. Anders Melldén soon followed. The ceremony then officially
launched with a speech by Datuk Hj. Ismail Awang Besar, President of the Sabah Scout Council. The
program then continued with the exchanging mementos between two countries and followed by performances from
both the Malaysian and Swedish scouts.

Youth Day Celebration 2004
On the 26th of June 2004, the annual Sabah Youth Day celebration was held at Dewan Saadah Wisma Muis Kota Kinabalu. This event were participated by every youth organisation to celebrate the state youth development. Our crew like congrat our member Rudie for being elected as leader for the Sabah Scout Association contingent for this year celebration. Congratulations. |
April Activities
It's been a very busy month for the Crew as on the 16-18 April 2004, two of our crew members Fadly (right) and Gadafi doing their services to help as a "Pembimbing" for this year Sixers Course at SK Likas Kota Kinabalu.
Meanwhile, congratulations to Skipper Joseph Yap, Faisal and Fadly for completing the Woodbadge Course Part 1 (Introduction) held at Sekolah Swasta Seri Insan on the 18th of April 2004. |

The crew like to thank our 2 members, Malim (left) and Rudie for their effort to help organizing the Scouts Patrol Leaders Course for the Inanam and Kota Kinabalu Distrist on the 2-4 April 2004 at SMK Inanam. Congratulation to Rudie for becoming the best facilitator. |
Trip to Sapi Island
7 members from our crew went away from the mainland to Sapi Island on the 19-21 of March 2004 as our next activities for this year. Members who participated include Sharwan, Saifuddin, Habib, Fadly, Ghadaffi, Jaspal and Roy. The camp lasted for 3 day and 2 night. Actitivies included hiking around the island and few others activities.

1st KK Cultural Nite
On the 14th of March 2004, our crew have been invited by 1st Kota Kinabalu scouts to join their annual cultural nite gathering at All Saints Secondary School. The cultural nite was part of their compulsory camp program and our crew leader, Huzaimi with members, Malim, Rudie, Habib, Faisal, Jaspal, Fadly, Saifuddin, Najib and Adrian were those who attended the event.
The crew gave a few performance including the "Kumbalihai" and "Nyanyi dalam hujan" as part of the show. This visit were also part of the crew objectives to attract more members near in the future. |
