Echo-Rover Scout Crew Kota Kinabalu District

Rover's-E Nite 27 September 1997 - The Crew celebrated their 3rd annivesary by having a BBQ together with other Rover Crews and scout leaders including the State Chief Scout Commisioner, Mr Awang Zainie Haji Suntim and the Kota Kinabalu District Scout Commisioner, Mr Stephen Hendriks at the Farida's Bed and Breakfast. About 25 people turn out for the occasion. The scouts enjoyed few competition games too like computer games (pinball), dart and a game of Win, Lose or Draw

Kota Kinabalu Diamond Jubilee Camp - In conjunction with 75 years of scouting in Kota Kinabalu, the Kota Kinabalu District Scout Leaders Council together with the Sembulan and Inanam District scouts will be organising the Jubilee Camp somewhere in 1998. The Crew will be heavily involved in this event, expecting around 300 scouts to attend the camp. Any companies or individuals who wish to sponsor the event are most welcomed. Sabah Scouts is coming on the internet - The Scout Association of Malaysia Sabah Branch has just formed its Sabah Scouts IT Development Committee on the 19 September 1997, mainly responsible for the development and maintenance of the Sabah Scout homepage and organising internet courses for scouts in the State.The homepage for the Scout Association of Malaysia Sabah Branch is expected to be launched later this year. The objective of the Commitee is to be the main body responsible for the development of Information Technology (IT) among the scout in the State of Sabah.

Jamboree on the Internet is Official! According to the World Scout Committee, the Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) has been made as an official annual international Scouting event, the same weekend as the Jamboree on the Air (18-19 october 1997). All are invited to test their connections on the 17 October 1997. To all the cyberscouts out there, this is a chance to chat with other scouts around the world.
