The Rovers Training Scheme in Malaysia can be divided into two sections : the Pre-Investure Training and the Rovers Scout Landyard Award Scheme.
It should be noted that a Rover Scout, who is acting as a Scout Leader of a group do not need wear the badges when in duty as Scout Leader.
THE ROVERS PRE-INVESTITURE TRAINING
A new comer or commonly known as Rover "Squire" will need to undertake the membership or "Tenderfoot Badge" test. Only then they can go through with the Pre-investiture Training Programme.

THE ROVERS SCOUT LANDYARD AWARD
A Rover scout who has been invested can now proceed with the Rovers Scout Landyard Award. The Award is the highest award offered to Rover Scout in Malaysia. In order to achieve the Award, the Rover scout will need to complete three badges comprising the Ramblers, Service and Scouting Skills Badges plus any either of the Cultural, National Welfare, International Welfare or Scouting Skills Badges.

The Rovers Scouts Landyard Award is the Excellence Award. The Award is worn on the left shoulder by inserting the anklet on the flap's button.
