The Food for the Hungry International Federation(FHIF) Elders Council Gathering

2nd. FHIF Gathering,Sabah 2006

FHI Sabah, Malaysia  (FHIM) hosted the 2nd international gatherings at Perkasa Hotel Mt. Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia from 4-7 December, 2006.

National organizations from Korea, Japan, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Thailand and the United States attended the meeting. Partner organizations, Canaan Farm, Korea was also present. Dr. Akira Horiuchi chaired the 2nd International Federation Gathering.

FHIM  President Datuk Dr.Mechiel Chan and Board members Datuk Chin Kui Bee,CK Tan,Esther Tai (Tiong Ing) ,Ku Joo Bee and Executive Director Rev.Koo Tuk Su and Executive Secretary Audrey Yap attended the function.

Dr.Stuart Gramenz (Australia) gave a talk in the evening.

It was a successful meeting and our FHI Family intends to return to Sabah in the near future.

1st International Prayers summit(IPS) & 4th FHIF Gathering,Seoul,Korea. 2007

FHIM Executive Secretary,Melanie Chu attended 1st IPS & 4th  FHIF Gathering Elder Council in Seoul,Korea from 6-13 October 2007.

The 2nd International Prayer Summit & the 6th Federation Gathering,Bangkok,Thailand .2008

 The Gathering was held from 10 to 13 October, 2008 at Emerald Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. It was graciously hosted by Thailand Food for the Hungry, following the VOC Training held from 9 to 10 October, 2008. About  sixty participants from Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines and the  U.S  attended  the meeting .

Mr CK Tan   headed the FHIM delegation  with Board members  Michael Tong,Ku Joo Bee and Melanie Chu.

7th.FHIF Gathering,Sabah 2009

FHIM once again hosted the 7th.FHIF gatherings(27-30 April 2009)in Kasih Sayang, Boutique Health Resort & Spa.Kota Kinabalu Sabah.The Ministry of Tourism,Culture and Enviroment ,Sabah, kindly hosted the International Welcome Dinner at the Grand Ballroom,Pacific Sutera.

Dr.Akira Horiuchi,Chairman of the Elders Council stressed that recession or no recession ,FHI Federation  will continue  its noble work as usual  in line with its motto " Bringing Hope to the Poor"

About  70 delegates from Korea,Japan,Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Uzebekistan attended the meeting.Also present  were FHIM  Board members,Jerry Chung,Chung Yit Hing,Eva Susau . Ku Joo Bee and executive secretary Melanie Chu

At the Elders Council meeting Mr CK Tan President  FHIM  became a member Executive Elders Council.
