NEWSLETTER 1-2001/2002 Greetings to you in the La Sallian spirit. Once again, this newsletter arrives to inform you of the latest happenings and upcoming events this year. LATEST HAPPENINGS 1. Annual General Meeting Held on 21 April 2001, this once-in-a-year event witnessed some new faces appearing at the meeting for the first time. Former students of La Salle from as late as the 1990s were present to show their support for the Association and this was reflected in two still fairly "wrinkle-free" faces being elected into the new committee for the year 2001/2002. The election of the Executive Committee members was a fairly quick and simple affair: a person was nominated, the nomination was closed, the person was elected. And so, we have the following members for the 2001/2002 Committee: President:
Roland Cheng
"Shwuck clop, clop, clop, clop shwuck clop, clop, clop, clop". Those were the familiar sounds to those who were at the Kinabalu Golf Club to witness more than 200 golfers swinging and walking their way to the greens to win the Datuk Wong Tze Fatt Trophy. Held over two days (27 - 28 April, 2001), the event was a resounding success, thanks to the many sponsors for prizes as well as those who enrolled to play even after a similar event was held at the Sabah Golf and Country Club only in August 2000. This particular charity golf tournament was organised in aid of the Benildus House which needs funds for repairs and upgrading.
