KOTA KINABALU: Residents of Kampung Mansiang in Menggatal near here will get a new community hall soon.

Gaya Member of Parliament Datuk Yong Teck Lee, who has been instrumental in getting government fund to implement the project, inspected the site for the new mini hall yesterday.

The former Chief Minister was accompanied by a delegation of senior officials from City Hall, the People Development Leader for Inanam constituency James Lee and Datuk Paul Wong.

The visit by Yong was to ascertain the suitability of the site for the project.

A spokesman for the villagers said the implementation of the project was timely as the existing community hall in the village was built years ago.

The setting up of the new hall was among various projects from the government aimed at enhancing the quality of life of the people.
