ACTIVITIES

The Malaysian Diabetes Association Sabah Branch organizes the following activities:-

[ Diabetes Awareness Campaign at Kota Belud ]

1. Annual Diabetes Camp
This is to provide up-to-date information on advance in diabetes on the correct method of disease management including diet, medication, exercise and other matters relating to control of diabetes.

[ Public Forum ]

2. Public Forum
To raise public awareness of diabetes.
3. Educational Programmes
Education of diabetes on the ways to manage their problem to reduce complication.


[ Public Detection at Beaufort ]

4. Public Detection
To aim at early detection or otherwise undiagnosed cases for referral to appropriate medical authorities.
5. Counselling
To provide on going education to diabetics regarding their condition, possible complication and various aspects of self management.
[ Public Detection at Karamunsing ]
6. World Diabetes Day
Celebrated annually on 14th November, to focus public attention on diabetes.

Topic:- 'Diabetes - a multi organ diseases by Dr. Philip Lyn, Vice Chairman of PDM Sabah Branch.

"Type of Kidney diseases and how to recognise them" by Dr. Liew Boon Seng, Consultant Nephrologist from Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu.
