The Scouting movement in Sabah which started in Sandakan in 1913 has trained thousands of young Scouts to become King Scouts. At the moment there are about 300 King Scouts recorded and approximately 2,700 Leaders has gone through the Part IV of the Wood Badge Course. The Sabah Scout research and record section are still searching for all the records to complete the history and facts regarding the scouting activities in the State.
Many Scouts have proven themselves that they can be influential and successful throughout their career. They include the Tuan Yang Terutama Negeri Sabah (Head of State), past State Chief Ministers, State Cabinet Ministers, lawyers, Senior Government Officers, and corporate members.
The Scouting movement today is still strong and better compared to the past. Many programs have been implemented and planned for the sake of developing the youth so that they can get proper education and the needed skills to prepare them for a better live.
Sabah Scout too is in need for volunteers majoring in any field to
help the movement to implement youth development programs.
