MEMBERSHIP
There are three types of membership. All
catagory of members should be above 18 years.
1. Ordinary Member: All persons above the age
of 18 years and residing in Sabah who subscribe to the aims and objectives of the Cancer
Society are eligible to become Ordinary Member of the Society. An Ordinar Member shall
have the right to vote and to hold office.
2. Life Member: An Ordinary Member by
subscribing a lump sum of MR100 as his/her membership subscription can opt to be a Life
Member. The Life Members have the right to vote and to hold office.
3. Honorary Member: Honorary membership shall
be conferred with the approval of the Management Committee on persons who have rendered
valuable service to the Society. Such Honorary Members shall enjoy the privileges of full
membership except that they are not eligible to vote or hold office in the Society.
Every application for Membership of the
Society hav to be made in the prescribed Application Form and have to be proposed and
seconded by two existing members and have to be forwarded to the Secretary who will submit
it to the Management Committee at the first convenient opportunity for approval. The
Management Committee may at its discretion reject any application without assigning any
reason therefore.
Any applicant whose application for membership
has been refused by the Management Committee may appeal to the Annual General Meeting for
its consideration whose decision shall be final.
Every aplicant whose application has been
approved as aforesaid, upon payment of the prescribed entrance fee and annual
subscription, will be admitted as a member of the Sociey and shall be entitled to all the
privileges of membership.
No University or University College student
will be admitted to membership of the Society without prior written permission from the
University or University College concerned.
Entrance fee is MR5.00 and Annual subscription
is MR10.00.
All annual subscriptions shall be payable to
the Treasurer in advance before 31st January of each year. Annual subscriptions not paid
after 31st January shall be deemed as arrears. |
