Aims & Objectives

The Aims and Objectives of the Association are:

1. to assist in every possible way in the prevention treatment and control of leprosy in the State with a view to its ultimate eradication and particularly (but without in any way limiting the generality of the foregoing) in the following ways:- (a) assisting and encouraging leprosy patients to seek treatment early; (b) looking after the welfare of leprosy patients during isolation and treatment; (c) assisting the dependants of leprosy patients during isolation and treatment; (d) rehabilitating cured leprosy patients; (e) combating prejudice against the disease of leprosy; (f) making every effort to eradicate the disease of leprosy;

2. to cooperate and established affiliation with other organizations local and international bodies having objects wholly or in part similar to those of the Association;

3. to initiate, carry out and issue reports of inquiries and observations into the origin, growth, prevention, treatment and cure of leprosy;

4. to encourage the study of leprosy and the means of prevention, treatment and cure thereof;

5. to promote any scheme or project or appeal which has for its objects the raising of funds for the Association;

6. to purchase, accept and hold any land or building;

7. to acquire and undertake the whole or any part of the land and business, property and liabilities of any body or Company with objects wholly or in part similar to the objects of the Association, or possessed of property suitable for the purpose of the Association, and to borrow such funds as may be necessary for such purpose;

8. to invest and deal with the moneys of the Association not immediately required upon such securities and in such manner as may from time to time be determined.
