The main objectives of SOS are twofold:

1. To raise funds to assist those patients who need to have heart surgery and/or other medical or surgical attention either not obtainable in Malaysia or are of such nature that it is considered by the Director of Medical Services to be in the best interest of the patients that they be treated outside Sabah.
2. The Society shall not have any affiliation or connection outside Malaysia. The Society shall be non-political and non-religious in nature.

The basic operation of this Society is based on the Constitution/Rules of the Society and will depend on the Public and Government support to carry out its aims and objectives.
