The distinguished Patron of the Association is Her Excellency the
Wife of
the Head of State, Sabah.

Management
Committee
A Management Committee is responsible for organising and supervising the day-to-day activities and the
running of the Association.
The Management
Committee,
elected at alternate Annual General Meetings, consists of the President of the Association, two Vice-presidents,
Secretary & Assistant Secretary, Treasurer & Assistant Treasurer and Ordinary
Committee Members,
elected at every alternate
Annual General Meeting,
as well as Ex-officio Members representing the Education Department, Labour Department, Medical Department, Ministry of Social Services and Sabah
Women’s Advisory Council.

In ascending chronological order
1994-1996: K.J.Joseph (Datuk)
Datuk K.J.Joseph, one of
the founding members of SCWA, held the pro-tem Vice President's post prior
to 1994.
He help draft the Constitution of the Association.
1996-1998: Dr.
Lungkiam Dambul
Dr.Lungkiam Dambul also subsequently served as a Committee
Member after his term as President.
1998-2000 &
2000-2002:
Anita
Harun (Datin)
Datin Anita
Harun
held the Vice President's post prior to 1998. She spearheaded the Management
Committee that initiated
the first few key
programs to be annual activities of the Association in 1999.
2002-2004 &
2004-2006:
Emmanuel Marcus Podtung
Emmanuel Marcus Podtung held various positions in the Management Committee prior
to 2002. He worked in the Welfare Department and frequently gave talks on the
subjects of child welfare and child abuse.
2006-2008 &
2008-2010 : M.Jennifer G.Sham
M.Jennifer G.Sham has been an active member of SCWA since 1999. She has also held various
important positions in the Management Committee such as Treasurer prior to
2006. She was unanimously re-elected as President in 2008.

Message from the President 2008-2010
|
|
Dear friends
My utmost gratitude for the
opportunity to continue working with the members of the Management Committee
of SCWA for the 2008-2010 term. I am looking forward to once again be
involved first hand in SCWA programs
in order to promote child welfare and prevent
child abuse. I am certain it will be as rewarding as it was for the term
2006-2008, the success of the programs made possible through the dedication
and commitment of the Management Committee and members for which I am most
grateful.
Our mission is
simple - to make our State safe for children to live and grow and be happy.
However, it is not something easily achieved. But it is not impossible,
because many share our cause.
