The Food for the Hungry International (FHI) is an international organisation and was founded in 1971 by Dr. Larry Ward with the vision to provide special focus on the world’s physically and spiritually hungry. FHI Malaysia was registered under the Societies Act (1966) with a tax exempt status and launched in 2006 by YB Datuk Dr.Yee Moh Chai, Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology.

Services:
1)To provide relief to people suffering from hunger, diseases and other human sufferings with food, and other goods and services of immediate necessity;

2)To provide financial assistance, facilities, and personnel to conduct development programmes designed to help the needy become self-supporting;

3)To provide medical services such as medicines, medical facilities and medical personnel to assist the poor and the needy;

4)To provide training of volunteers, supporters and members in relief work

5)To develop policies and to carry out research and development on fundamental solutions for hunger, diseases and other human sufferings

6)To establish, maintain and operate such home, centre or other similar institution as may be necessary for the purpose of carrying out the objectives;

7)To carry out any other relief activities directly or indirectly related to the primary purpose of alleviation of hunger,diseases and other human sufferings; and

8)To develop network with other similar organizations, support groups and bodies(government or non-government) with similar objectives within or outside Malaysia without regard to creed, social status, race and gender.
