PALIATIVE CARE ASSOCIATION KOTA
KINABALU OBJECTIVES 1.
To provide
palliative care to patients who are suffering from incurable diseases, and
whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment, regardless of race,
religion or creed. 2.
To provide
holistic care, which takes into consideration the physical, emotional,
spiritual and psycho-social needs of patients and their families, who have
been referred to the Association. 3.
To upgrade the
standard and quality of palliative care by: - Providing or helping to provide
training for doctors, nurses, allied health professionals
and lay persons in all aspects of palliative care. - Providing social, emotional and spiritual support to all persons engaged in the provisions of palliative
care. 4.
To educate
members of the caring professions and the general public on the modern
concepts of palliative care and to promote good relations between persons
providing such care and the rest of the community. 5.
To maintain and
continually improve upon the existing facilities available within the
palliative care services in Kota Kinabalu and its
vicinity. 6.
To liaise closely
with existing care services within Malaysia and Internationally, and,
where necessary, to assist in the setting up of new palliative care
services within Malaysia. 7. To promote
or conduct research into all aspects of palliative
care. |
